Zecco Free Trading Now Up!

Posted October 9, 2006 by Chuck Posted in: Personal Finance

Zecco just sent me a an email that their free trading interface is now up! I quickly went over and went through the account signup process which was pretty standard. I think I beat the rush because the server seemed very quick. Have to mail in my signed documents (which I also emailed to them) so hopefully my account will be ready for trading in the next few days. Will let you guys know how everything goes.

Zecco.com

The gist of Zecco.com is:

  • 10 free market or limit online orders per day, up to 40 per month.
  • $2,500 minimum to open via ACH transfer, wire, or check.
  • No inactivity fees.

MyMoneyBlog has some blurbs on Zeccos features, and 24/7 Wall St has a lengthy analysis of it as well.

Have to say I’m pretty excited about it. I miss FreeTrade greatly, and the though of 40 free trades per month really seems too good to be true. To me this would mean the death of mutual funds, because why would I put money into one when I can use an ETF for free.
