PenFed Lowers 30 Year Fixed Mortgage Rate to 5.85%

I’ve previously written about the benefits of Pentagon Federal Credit Union’s mortgage program Just thought I would give anyone looking to refinance or purchase a home that they have lowered their rates to 5.85% for a 30 year fixed mortgage.

I just followed the link in disbelief and somehow from march to August 2 the par rate for thirty year fixed went from 5.875 to 6.875???? My par rates in that same period have been nearly flat. (Big ups and downs between but the net result has been flat) It doesn’t make a lot of sense.
