IRS EFile – When Will I Get My Refund Direct Deposit or Check? (2010)

For those of you like me wondering when you can expect to receive your refund direct depot or check once you efile the IRS has a handy publication 2043 with this information.
The table below shows when your federal tax refund should be deposited in your bank account or your check mailed if you efiled and your refund was accepted within the dates listed.

Did get my refund direct deposited on Wednesday, April 7th.
I get my return in on time and yet they can’t do the same. A lot of people are relying on that money and it’s like the IRS is Mr. Power Hungry man. Just ticks me off!!!
I e-filed and the IRS accepted on the 12th. I called the folks I e-filed with last week and they said I should received my refund last Friday. I called the IRS and they haven’t even processed it. They said they have 3 weeks to process, so I guess that means they have until next Monday. What was the point of e-filing. I did mail my 2008, but I didn’t owe money. We will see. Doesn’t seem like anyone has any answers on any of the websites.
I asked for direct depoisit on my turn and the irs just posted that it was mailed on april 23d…? anybody else have this happen to them? and if it was mailed ont he 23d will it be just a few more days to receive?
Accepted Feb. 17th 2010, STILL WAITING….WMR still says that IRS is still processing refund with code 1301. Everytime I call IRS I get a different answer every time…..Well, in the mean time I’ve lost my job and have been evicted while waiting on this refund….Living with family with four children. I need my money NOW!
I dont know whats going on too, I paper file my refund and was a message on Wheres my refund saying that my check was mailed on march 26 than 1 week later was no message but 2008 file was being process when I called a rep said everything was ok and my check was mailed that I have to wait 7 to 15 days to get the check and they were holding 2008 because I duplicate my file,Im waiting almost 2 weeks today I decide to call again and the rep said that nothing was send to me everything was holding because I duplicate my file I dont know if someone is understanding whats going on Im so confused ….
It says on H & R Block that my refund has been cleared for direct deposit but when I go on IRS “Where’s my Refund” it doesn’t seem to have any record and says information might be entered wrong. It isn’t because I’ve checked numerous times. I efiled on April 7th.
Hey everybody, the WMR said my money was deposit on 4/9, now its Mon 4/12 and nothing is in the bank acct. Has this happen to anyone else? Pls help?

Our tax return was e-filed on 3/26/10. It was supposed to be direct deposited on 4/9, nothing came. Checked IRS web site and it says it is being processed, as long as no mistakes are found or any other taxes owed we should receive it by 4/20. WTH? We have never had any problem before. Makes me feel like the feds just want to hang on to the $ a little while longer. How disappointing
My efile was accepted by IRS on Feb. 7th, initally IRS site said I should get my refund by 2/23…didn’t happen. On 2/23 rechecked the site and I had the 1301 code. I’ve called the IRS several times and all they could tell me is that it’s being processed. Thought I would get it today, I’ve heard they make deposits on Fridays but NO…still waiting!
My return was accepted Feb. 17th. I was originally given the date of March 16th for DD. March 16th came ane went. Now all the IRS website is saying is that it’s still processing. Gave me a number to call and extention and told me to let the rep know that’s it’s been over three weeks since I’ve received my return with error code 1301. And the worst part of it all I DON”T EVEN HAVE A DATE…..just says still process….WTF
Have anyone with the code 1301 actually recieved a refund this year yet. Because i got the code after having a direct deposit date of 04082010 and nothing. When i called the IRS the lady said since it was my first time filling i could recieve it on the 9th but more than likely it should be there on the 16th. Just wondering because i have read lots of different blogs and no one has said if they gotten a return after having the code 1301. My DD Is supposed to be today 3/30/10. Do they DD on Tuesdays? The IRS “wheres my refund” has stated for 3 weeks that today was the day. I had to mail mine because of the first time home buyers tax credit. Will I get it still today at 9:34pm? or will it be Friday?
Ok Kids. I am having the same issue I filed on 1/17 and it was accepted on 1/18. However on 1/25 I got a letter 4464 C.. So I went ballistic because I have never had an issue with my refund always file on dependent nothing else. Well I waited the 45days from the date of the letter and guess what the IRS still has no clue about what is taking so long. So i went to the taxpayer advocate and now I have a case with them. My caseworker is really good. The turnaround time for them is 2 weeks. So now my money has been released and I will get a deposit next friday. My advice is if you have already waited the alloted time then get an advocate. They can force the IRS to show cause as to why they are holding your refund.
Having the same problem in SC. Filed on March 5th. According to tax preparer and IRS guide refund should have been DD on March 19th. Today is the 23rd and no DD. Where’s My Refund site says refund should be DD on March 30th. Why did I pay for e-file if it’s going to take that long? I haven’t seen anything on the news about this delay. Never had this problem before.
I submitted my tax return in early February and mine says if there are no problems I should have my direct deposit April 20th. That is insane! Why do I even get this stuff done so early if I’m not going to get my money early?
Ok, I’m having the same problem and it’s pissing me off. I have stuff I want to do with my money. IRS.Gov/wmr says my refund is still being processed. Does anyone know EXACTLY how long it will take? My DD dates keep changing.
I have the same experience with mine was to be dd on 16th March not it jumped to 30th … what’s going on?
I had the exact same experience as you all. IRS said money would be in acct by 16 Mar which now states 30 Mar. The government can’t run anything well. Wait for Obamacare if you think this is bad.
i did my taxes in feb 09,2010 but i send them in on feb 18,2010…and they advice me that i will be receving my refund 2-3 weeks and it has been 3 weeks already…i went to the irs.gov “wheres my refund” and it said We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by April 06,2010..then i check again and it said by April 13,2010…I also call the Irs # and the rep. advice that its being process and by next week they should have a date when will i receive my refund…does anyone know whats going on..
I filed on Feb 21st. through H & R block software online and requested direct deposit. I have done this for the past 5 years. I was accepted on Feb 23rd and given March 5th as direct dpeosit date, then checked again and the date had changed to the March12th. I just checked again and now states if everything is ok and if I don’t owe any taxes that I should receive direct deposit on March 16th. Ugh! So frustrating – what is going on!
I did my tax and it said that i should get my refund today march 9th but nothing came in. I’ve called the IRS hot line on it still said that I should get my refund on the 9th. Do you think we just have to wait on the next recycle date which it is march 12th.
E-filed on 2-25-10 with H and R Block paid them to do it. Said it was accepted and that the deposit would be made on 3-9-10 Then checked my status today and it says recieved you information now they are saying it will be deposited on 3-25-10 if everything is okay. What is going on????
I filed on Jan. 15…got accepted on 1/18…got a 4464c letter dated the 25th of January, telling me to wait 45 days. As of tomorrow that time is up and still no refund. WMR still says the same thing has not been updated in a month. reference code 1201…ext. 462……well 45 day was up today…so I call and am told they don’t know why and to wait another 30 days….LOL…
efiled on Feb 22, and IRS Where’s My Refund site originally said refund would come direct deposit by March 9. Thursday morning it updated and my refund date changed to March 16.
Last year, filing by paper, I received my refund faster. I’m not convinced that efile is the way to go.
Also to add to my last post the irs website says it was deposited on march 5 but didn’t show up at my bank so that is why I called HSBC (h and r blocks third party)(1-888-832-5625) if yours says it has been deposited and u filed with h and r block and requested dd call that number n they will tell u where your money is
The IRS said that my check was directed deposite on the 5th of March but when i checked my account there was no money!!!!
I filed with h and r block my federal refund was scheduled to be direct deposited march 5th, no deposit on march 5th so I called h and r block today and asked them for the number to there third party bank that takes out the fees for them I then call them (HSBC) and was informed that although irs says the 5th that, that is when irs send money to third party bank, and that it usually takes three days after that to actually show up in mY account so I hope this gives some hope !! We will see on monday if it actually posts
I e-filed my returns on 2/8/2010. The list says I should have received my check which I had direct deposited on 2/19/2010. I received my state check on 2/23/2010 but still have not received my federal. Does anyone know what is going on? I aid extra to E-File and chose direct deposit but its going on 4 weeks already. Last year I did a paper return and direct deposit and received both checks within 10 business days.
My accountant, and the table above both tell me my refund should be deposited to my account on the 19th; this is the 26th, and still nothing. According to the IRS website, my check is being set on March 5. I shouldn’t be getting a physical check, I’m supposed to have direct deposit. This is the first year I’ve ever had any problems.
That’s a great reference list, but I heard on the news not too long ago that possibly refunds will be delayed in some instances. I haven’t filed yet, so I hope that I don’t experience a delay in processing once I do.
My husband and I are having the same issue, irs.gov says that our refund was direct deposited on the 19th and to contact my bank if it isn’t there by the 24th so I guess something must have happened because it seems like we all have the same situation. I called the bank today and they explained to me even if it was sent on the 19th it can take 3-4 business days to process and reach your account so, we’ll see by Wednesday.
I am a little worried after been on code 1301 for 3 weeks yesterday my status changed to “your return is schedule to be deposited on february 24, if its not there……… wait until march 1rst to contact us” the problem is that day is a wednesday and I thought they only deposit on fridays. someone got they refund on a wednesday???
Just posting that I did receive my full DD refund on 2/19 – the refund that was accepted on 2/3 – one week IRS lag for me
My Efile was done on the 2nd of Feb.. but i’m getting it in paper check form instead of DD. TaxACT schedueled it to arrive yesterday 2/18/10.. I tried tracking my refund but was told something wasn’t matching with my info and to wait a week before i could try again.. Maybe president’s day was the hold back but nothing today the 19th as well.. i will post when i do get it..
I filed on the 8th or 9th of this month (FEB) with HR Block and the next day I received a text (I signed up to be notified text messaging because I can’t remember my email password) saying that the IRS has accepted it. HR Block said I should receive it today the 19th because I set up direct deposit, but I have not received anything.
When I go to the website to check on the status, it says they cannot provide any info about my refund. The same thing happens when I call the 1800 number.
What do you think is going on with it? Is there a number I can reach a live rep on? Also, could this past Monday, Presidents Day, be the cause of the delay?
My refund was supposed to be DD on 2/19/10 and check back no earlier than 24th if no $ deposited. It’s still Fri. 19th, but I doubt that it’s arriving today ( it’s after 1pm.) Tomorrow is Sat., so I’m not going to hold my breath. Bank sees nothing pending from them. HR Block says Federal deposits only on Fri., so I think they’re backed up or were too optimistic in the first place. The same thing happened last year. It used to be that the state refund took longer, but now its the opposite. It’s too bad that the date they give you isn’t usually accurate. Alot of people think something is wrong with their info or filing in general, but from my experience, the dates given are just wrong. State has been accurate, but not Federal. Don’t count on those dates and DEFINITELY don’t be tempted to promise that $ to anybody before you get it!!! Happily, it does eventually show up in most cases.
Looks my refund is going to be available tomorrow 2/19 – just one week after the 2/12 date that the IRS efile schedule listed based on my acceptance date (2/3). Turbotax said 2/12 as well. My bank sees the direct deposit as of today 2/18 as pending for release to me tomorrow 2/19.
What’s the number to a live rep – that’s a tricky one – here’s what I do… call the 800 number (not 800.829.1040, but the other one), then press the option to repeat the menu, wait for the prompts to repeat, then press the same option to repeat again. Do that a couple times and voila, here comes a rep.
Separate update: I have a new status on the WMR site as of 02/17, which is good news:
“Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 19, 2010. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 24, 2010, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 24, 2010 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then.”
To me it just looks like the IRS had a lag that caused them to miss the expected deposit date, but only missed it by one week – I’ll post whether or not I get my refund on the 19th, one week after I was expecting it.

It’s the afternoon of 2/15 and the refund that I was expecting on 2/12 based on the IRS e-file refund table is still in wonderland – WMR still says 2/23 though, so at least that’s consistent, will wait until the 24th and see what happens. I spoke to a surprisingly pleasant IRS agent who said everything looked good for the 2/23.
I also filed and had my return accepted on the 2nd of Feb. and my DD deposit date was 2/12, but that date came and went and NO MONEY!!! I received my state refund just 3 days after being accepted but nothing on federal! I looked it up on WMR and was given a date of 2/23.

I e-filed with turbotax and had my return accepted on 2/3, set for direct deposit. The IRS refund chart and turbotax both have today 2/12 as the deposit date, but the Where’s My Refund IRS site says by 2/23 – and naturally I don’t have my refund today 2/12 and my bank hasn’t seen it deposited or pending. Am I going to have to wait until the 23rd, or is that date on WMR more of a just in case safe date for the IRS?
So if both of my refunds both got accepted and going into my savings account directly, when should I recieve them by, if they got accepted the 4th of FEB and what time?
i want tknow if somebody know if the irs say i should receive my refund by feb 9th if there or no processing delays or i dont owe but the 9th is on a tuesday so what day will i get my refund
you should contact the irs, because this happened to me…I had a bad feeling, so i called the irs and they said it was rejected because the birthdate and something with the income was wrong. They normally send an email like a week later after it was rejected, but to be sure when u efile you go to irs.com check the status 72 hours later thats only if u efiled them…If you send them in, then u should wait a week or two…That takes longer, and sometimes the calander isnt always right…Just call them and find out!!!
