Well, finally got a response back from HSBC’s mortgage division and it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for.
Thank you for your recent E-Mail to HSBC Mortgage Corporation (USA). I appreciate the opportunity to respond.
Please note that servicing transfers are a normal part of business in the mortgage industry. We appreciate your time as an HSBC mortgage customer. However, the servicing of your account will be transferred to Countrywide Home Loans, effective October 1, 2006. Your savings and checking accounts remain serviced by HSBC Bank USA.
Yes, very helpful. Guess I will have to call again.

What is your goal? Are you hoping that HSBC will do something for you or just listen to you complain? I’m just curious because selling mortgages and other loans is a frequent and expected activity in the lending universe. They won’t reverse the sale. So what kind of response are you looking for?
Flexo - If you look at the original post most commenters said that I may be able to get out of the move if I talk to the right people at HSBC. Not going to be the end of the world if I don’t talk them out of it but worth a shot.
Thanks for pointing me there. It’ll be an uphill battle… keep us posted!
