Five Tips for Switching to a Higher Paying Career

Posted September 8, 2006 by Chuck Posted in: Personal Finance

Career Journal has an article up with some advice if you are thinking about switching careers. The five main tips are:

1. Prepare to take a step back.
2. Show how your skills are a good fit.
3. Focus your resume on your talents.
4. Look the part.
5. Be ready to discuss your career change.

Some interesting points, I have been thinking about going back for my MBA as of late because there seems to be only so far I can get as a computer analyst. For me taking the step back would be the hardest part, as I’ve gotten used to the lifestyle my salary has afforded me now, but I suppose it would the best in the end.
