Citi Diamond Preferred Credit Card – 0% For Life Offer

Citi is offering their Citi Diamond Preferred credit card with a new offer – 0% for life if you make 2 purchases a month. There is a 3% balance transfer fee… $5 min / $75 max.

Its 0% on balance transfers straight until 5/1/07, then after that you need to make 2 purchases a month to keep your 0%.

There are always some interesting ideas over at FatWallet about how to make 1 cent charges so you can keep your 0% without charging too much on the card and incuring the finance charge wrath (your payments apply to the 0% first, so the additional purchases you make every month to maintain it will be at 14% APR). Some ideas include – using your utility companies online billpay to pay 1 cent to your bill, donating 1 cent to your least favorite charity online , and charging pumping 1 cent in gas (some gas stations will just void the charge, so you’ll get your gas for free). There are arguements that these places all pay a transaction fee for each credit card transaction in the range of 15-25 cents so try to do it to places you don’t like.
