Why You Should Never Buy Your Printer Cable Instore
Deals and Steals
I often see people at Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, etc. buying a 6 foot USB printer cable for $30 with the printer they are purchasing there and can’t help but shake my head. You can get these cables shipped to your door for less than $2 each!

Home Depot - 20% off Carpet (Including Install)
Deals and Steals
I am in the process of finishing my new basement, and while I wanted to install the carpet last this deal seems too good to pass up. Not sure if it is regional, but the Home Depot stores here are having a Home Show 06′ sale in which there is 20% off all carpet. It gets better… the 20% off also includes the pad and the labor! Usually you can only get the discount off the carpet itself so this is a great deal.
If you combine this with a 10% off coupon and 20% off Dealpass cards you get an effective 42% off the regular price! So if you have a home improvement project that needs carpet now is probably the time to buy.
Cheap 19″ LCD - $99 After Rebate
Deals and Steals
PC Connection has a 19″ Hanns-G LCD Computer Monitor for $99 after rebate ($219 - $120) with FREE shipping using code 921689316. I actually have this monitor from a deal a few months ago where it was $120 and I can say it is definetly worth it if you need to replace an old monitor, want some space on your desk, and don’t do much gaming (its not terrible for gaming but more of a web surfing monitor). I got all my rebates without having to hassle anybody. It even has DVI!
Don’t forget your 2% FatCash too!
Fast response time (8ms)
3 YEAR parts and labor warantee
RGB and DVI connections
Both RGB and DVI cables included (in box)
Cheap Phone Service - Sunrocket $99 / 1yr Unlimited VOIP
Deals and Steals
Sunrocket VOIP is running another 1/2 price sale. For $99 you get unlimited calling to the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico for a whole year. Make the deal even sweeter by going through FatCash at Fatwallet to get an additional $20 off. Here’s how it works:
- Go to the Fatwallet Cashback area. Click on the $20.00 Cash Back Rebate Available!” link.
- Once you’ve reached SunRockets homepage through this link, copy and paste the following link into your browser window: http://www.sunrocket.com/sign_up/signup.do?chn=2
Thats it! You should be able to get the deal for $99, then also get your $20 in FatCash as well. Excellent deal for 1 year of service - that makes it about $6.58 per month for unlimited calling.
Here are some more of the details:
- Equipment fee is $39.95, but is fully refundable if you cancel for any reason (as long as you return the equipment).
- There is no setup fee or shipping cost. SR includes a postage-prepaid label in case service has to be cancelled for any reason and equipment has to be returned.
- There is a 31-day no obligation trial period. If service is cancelled before the 31 days are up, you get all your money back.
I personally have Voicepulse VOIP service, but have heard good things about SunRock. So if you are looking for a deal on phone service this is hard to beat.
NOTE: This is not a referal or advertisement, I am not making any money off this.

Saving Money On Phone Service
Deals and Steals, Personal Finance
I’m not a big gabber on the phone, so I tried to look for ways to save on my home phone and cell phone service. I used to be with Sprint on a fairly good corporate plan where I paid about $35/mo after taxes and fees. But I found myself only using about 100-150 minutes a month and figured there had to be a better deal out there for someone like me. I also had home phone service through Verizon which ran about $45/mo after fees, plus any long distance I used. I searched out a way to save on the $80/mo I was paying for phone service.

Saving Money Using Dealpass
Deals and Steals
Dealpass is a unique program which for a monthy fee (usually around $20) you can join various clubs that allow you to purchase gift cards to your favorite stores at 20% off the face value. You may purchase them in $25 incriments… so a $25 gift card will end up costing you $20. How it works is that you pay the full amount for the gift card, then at the beginning of the next month they credit you back the 20% - so for instance you purchase $125 worth of cards from Target… you pay $125 then usually within the first few days of the following month they will refund your credit card $25.
